Pacific Invoice Finance is New Zealand’s only nationwide specialist invoice finance provider, helping growing businesses unlock cash tied up in debtors. Their solutions support growth, improve liquidity and solve funding challenges traditional lenders often can’t. 

They are now looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to take over an established South Island territory, working alongside an experienced national team and stepping into a well connected market presence. 

This is not a transactional sales role. It is a relationship led commercial role where credibility, judgement and business development instincts matter.

The Opportunity

Covering the South Island, you’ll work closely with accountants, commercial bankers, brokers, lawyers and business owners to identify and progress funding opportunities.

You’ll inherit strong relationships and be supported through a thoughtful handover, while also bringing your own network and commercial acumen to continue growing the region.

You’ll be joining a small, experienced and collaborative team where ideas are welcomed, autonomy is trusted and success is shared.

What you’ll be doing
  • Developing and growing referral relationships across banking, accounting and professional networks 
  • Identifying and converting new funding opportunities through trusted relationships 
  • Meeting with business owners to understand funding needs and structure solutions 
  • Managing opportunities through due diligence and credit submission, with support from the wider team 
  • Building long term client and referrer relationships across the South Island 
  • Contributing ideas and helping shape growth as part of a highly collaborative team 
What we’re looking for
Likely you’ll come from:
  • Commercial or corporate banking 
  • Business or asset finance 
  • Specialist lending or structured finance 
  • Possibly a broker or adviser environment with strong banking networks 

You’ll bring:
  • A track record of growing relationships and winning business 
  • Existing networks across bankers, accountants and professional advisers 
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen 
  • Confidence engaging with business owners and senior stakeholders 
  • A consultative, naturally curious style and the ability to think on your feet 
  • Initiative, drive and enough edge to hunt, while still being highly relationship driven 

Most importantly, you will be someone who can build rapport quickly, ask good questions, hold a commercial conversation and create trust.

Salary
Circa $110,000 - $130,000 base plus incentive, depending on experience, likely OTE of $200K.
