Choice Commercial is an employee-owned and operated Light Commercial construction company based in central Wellington.

Having started 25 years ago primarily delivering interior fit-out projects, they now manage a much broader range of projects – up to a recent $4m new build community centre.

Senior Site Manager

About this role:

Choice Commercial has recently been awarded several new projects and requires a Senior Site Manager to join the team. The projects are currently up to $10m in value and need capable construction leaders to drive them. Operating with an experienced team, this is more than your typical Site Manager role - you will need to be the face of the company on your project including all client interactions, trade management, programming, and procurement. This represents an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to take that leap from Site Management to Project Management and you’ll be supported along that path.

Skills & experience:
We’re looking for someone who has proven success as a Site Manager on light commercial projects and is driven to take the next step. Given the complex projects Choice Commercial takes on, you will need to have experience across a broad range of disciplines and have a working knowledge of all trade disciplines including from foundation work through to the finishing trades. An understanding of seismic and/or healthcare projects would be beneficial but not essential.
This will be your site to own and drive, as such, you will need to;

  • Have exceptional communication and trades management
  • Understand how to create and run a program – they can assist with MS Project
  • Be IT savvy – able to learn the above, along with Procore
  • Be a team player, and able to foster a great working environment
